Well...the Singapore pictures are way back dated so, i didn't bother posting them up anymore...OK...i bet you guys are more interested in the working life i'm going through as an audit assistant rather than my nonsense singapore trip
Alright..the first day i was really blur...everyone was busy doing their own work and you'll get those eyes staring at you once a while....can't blame them though...everyone is checking out the new girl in office...I was being introduced to everyone around the office...and then since they don't have the time to train me....my senior left me with a file 'audit proggrame'...I just went through it and due to the lack of staff in the office...soon after that i was called to go out for audit of a company...what us really junior does is to check and vouch documents to ensure what's in there's a proof for a figure in the general ledger..sorry for all the usage of jargon...this blog is meant only for my fellow accountants...
Sadly, I was the only new staff there...even the trainees are older than me and came in to Horwath a month earlier...they definitely know the people and the staff better...i learnt how to operate the photocopying machine aka printer, binding the accounts and casting check..basically all the job of an office girl...well, being a permanent staff there i wasn't treated as badly as the other trainees...
What's more audit related is that you always start off doing your first auditing on a 'dormant' company meaning to say that the company has no revenue and has not much of activity..just because they're private ltd companies....they have to file audited accounts to the registrar of company.....there's no formal procedure of the so called 'TOC' you learn in audit papers...all you do is just test of detail plus an analytical review on the income statement and balance sheet...mind you that IAS 1 revised will only be implemented in 2009...so...what you learn in P2 now does not apply yet....well....basically i just check everything in the B/S and I/S and get some document as a proof...
Hopefully i'll get to do some stocktaking soon...i'll have to wait till 30 sept..and all i pathetically want at least a desktop for my own at work...sigh..being new is no fun....
